Did you hear? Mrs Janette Ackerley, Chairwoman of Harborough District Council, recently visited the Emergency Services Cadets.
Blending the three blue lights and led by experienced emergency service professionals, the cadets study the nationally agreed curriculum for fire and police with the additional benefit of input on first aid, health and treatment from East Midlands Ambulance Service.
With community activity and support being at the core of the unit’s heart, the cadets regularly take part in local and national events and projects, helping to support the community in any way they can.
The Emergency Service Cadets, which is open to children in the Harborough District aged thirteen to eighteen and supported/part funded by the PCC and local charities and philanthropic groups, believe that working together is paramount and what contributes towards the success of the cadets unit.
One of the cadets, Lily Almond (back row, forth from the right) was recently awarded Police Cadet of the Month for the county. With her hard work, commitment and determination the cadets, as Lily has done, will hopefully regularly achieve awards and recognition.
