The Prince’s Trust
Inspired by HRH The Prince of Wales, the Prince’s Trust Team programme enables 16-25 year olds to develop their confidence, motivation and skills.
The Team programme is a full-time programme of personal development. Teams of about 12 to 15 people take part in a challenging programme which begins with team-building activities, including a week at a residential activity centre followed by team-work on real projects in the local community as well as individual work placements. It culminates in each team presenting its achievements to an invited audience at an event where team members receive their certificates.
Leicestershire Fire and Rescue Service has been delivering the programme since 1997 in a number of locations throughout the county, and has delivered over 130 teams to over 1700 young people.

“For my future I would like to go in to full time employment, as I have now got loads more confidence, learning new interview techniques, talking to people and joining in with things I would not usually do. ”
Anisha
What’s in it for me?
Everyone has the right, and deserves the chance, to grow and reach their potential. YOU choose the skills that you want to work on, for example: confidence, motivation, problem solving, caring for others and leadership. All of these skills are vital in today's workplace. You can also gain nationally recognised qualifications.
The programme delivers proven high quality training which will help you to develop skills, self-confidence and motivation. It also helps you to get more out of LIFE and YOURSELF.
You will plan, fundraise and execute a project which will help your local community. Teams in the past have renovated community centres and day centres. They have also transformed empty or overgrown gardens into beautiful and enjoyable places to spend time.
Your final team challenge will be to organise, plan and participate in days out for disadvantaged people from your local community.
Two out of three unemployed participants find work or go on to further education or training after completing the programme.
