Embedded Firefighters
There are currently eight secondary schools in Leicester in which we have a firefighter placed for one day a week during the Spring and Summer terms. The firefighters act as role models and advocates for the Fire and Rescue Service. They work across all year groups in many areas of the curriculum, discussing fire and road safety and associated anti-social behaviour.
Our firefighters get involved with delivering elements of the curriculum in areas such as humanities and citizenship, and present the ‘human face’ of the fire service.
