MEDIA OPPORTUNITY: HIGH SHERIFF'S AND LORD MAYOR VISIT LEICESTERSHIRE FIRE AND RESCUE SERVICE


On Tuesday 31st July, Leicestershire Fire and Rescue Service is to welcome the High Sheriffs of Leicestershire and Rutland and the Lord Mayor of Leicester for their annual visit.

Barry Jackson, the present High Sheriff of Leicestershire, along with his wife Jeanne-Marie, Libby Gilman, the present High Sheriff of Rutland and Councillor Gary Hunt, the Lord Mayor of Leicester, along with his consort Chris Hunt, will all visit Southern Fire and Rescue Station.

On arrival at Southern Fire and Rescue Station, the guests will be greeted by Jim Walker, Community Safety Support Team Manager and Helene Sutliff, Educational Team Co-ordinator.

The guests will then be given a demonstration of the Community Safety Unit, a mobile mock up of a typical home used to highlight possible dangers within the home that is effective in engaging with people in the community. The Technical Rescue crew will then give a tour of the latest, modern rescue equipment. Following this they will be taken to meet individual members of the Community Safety Support Team, the Arson Task Force and Prince’s Trust Teams.
