Local Firefighters Get In A Lather For Charity

This Saturday is the ideal chance for drivers to get a perfectly polished car and to
learn how to keep their families safe from fire when the National Car Wash Day,
sponsored by Angus Fire, rolls into Leicestershire with local firefighters washing cars
and dispensing fire safety advice.

Firefighters from Leicestershire Fire and Rescue Service will be joining thousands of
others from all over the country in the annual all-day event on Saturday 15th
September. The event will take place at various locations across the county with all
proceeds going to charity to support injured firefighters.

Of course, whilst the entire nation will be waxing lyrical about their spotless cars,
there is a very serious reason as to why this event is taking place across the UK – to
save lives and to raise much needed funds for the Fire Service National Benevolent
Fund.
