Barn Fire - Elmesthorpe

At approximately 9:35pm, Leicestershire Fire and Rescue Service received a call to a
barn fire at Woodhouse Farm on Burbage Common Road in Elmesthorpe near to
Earl Shilton.

Crews from Hinckley, Southern, Loughborough and Market Bosworth Fire and
Rescue Stations attended to find the 30m by 20m barn, containing straw, hay, gas
cylinders and diesel involved in a serious fire.

Firefighters wearing breathing apparatus entered the barn to extinguish the fire and
cool the cylinders to prevent them from exploding. The fire is now under control and
damping down is currently taking place.

The cause of the fire is unknown at this time.
