Woman Dies In Flat Fire

At 6:50am on Friday 1 February, Leicestershire Fire and Rescue Service received a
call to reports of a fire in a block of flats in Moira Street, Loughborough.

Firefighters from Shepshed, Coalville and East Leake Fire and Rescue Stations were
sent to deal with the incident. Crews arrived to find a fire in a ground floor flat.
Firefighters wearing breathing apparatus entered the property to extinguish the fire
and found the body of a woman in the sitting room area. The woman is believed to in
her mid 30s and lived alone.

The cause of the fire has been subject to joint investigation by the Fire and Rescue
Service and Police.
