Factory Fire, Evington Valley Road

At 10:08 this morning, Leicestershire Fire and Rescue Service received a call to a fire
at a factory unit on Evington Valley Road in the Leicester city area.

Crews from Eastern, Wigston, Western, Lutterworth and Central Fire and Rescue
Stations attended. The fire was on the first floor of the four storey knitwear factory
unit measuring approximately 15 metres by 30 metres.

Firefighters wearing breathing apparatus entered the building to bring the fire under
control.

There was nobody working inside the factory unit at the time of the fire however the
surrounding units were evacuated prior to our arrival. The cause of the fire in
unknown at the moment and is under investigation.
