Leicestershire Firefighters on Standby to Help in Indonesian Search and Rescue Effort
Following a request from the Indonesian Government to the British Government today, a team of six Leicestershire Fire and Rescue Service firefighters are on standby to deploy to the Sumatra Island of Indonesia following the two earthquakes in the region this week.
The team are being deployed as part of a nationally co-ordinated response forming part of the national fire and rescue services’ International Search and Rescue (ISAR) effort.
The team is currently on standby as transportation arrangements are put in place and as yet, have not left the country.
