Leicestershire Fire and Rescue Service Firefighters Take Part in the Crumball Rally for Charity
We would like to invite all members of the media to meet the ‘Les Pompiers’ Crumball Rally team and see their £200 ‘Allo Allo’ themed car at Central Fire and Rescue Station, Lancaster Place, Leicester LE1 7HB at 10am on Thursday 19 November before they leave for France.
The rally involves three days and 1500 miles of travel, taking in France, Luxembourg and Belgium. The rally starts in Boulogne, France on Friday 20 November and finishes in Bruges, Belgium on Sunday 22 November. The team are undertaking their journey in a £200 Ford Mondeo, spray painted by firefighter Richard Curtis from Hinckley Fire and Rescue Station.
The ‘Les Pompiers’ team consists of Firefighters Sam Greasley, Ed Rogers and Rich Nurse, all based at the city’s Central Fire and Rescue Station, and Andy Kirk, Station Manager for Community Safety.
The firefighters are leaving from Central Fire and Rescue Station on Thursday 19 November at 11.30am and they are aiming to raise money for Cancer Research and Children in Need.
