Rudolph Kicks Off his Christmas Tour at Carol Service
We would like to invite all members of the media to the start of the annual Rudolph Run. The run will start at Trinity Methodist Church, Narborough Road, Leicester at 7pm on Tuesday 1 December 2009 at the Leicestershire Fire and Rescue Service (LFRS) annual Carol Service 2009.
The Rudolph Run aims to raise money for charities around Leicester, Leicestershire and Rutland, last year raising £13,824.29. The charities benefiting last year were Reality, Leicestershire Down’s Syndrome Group, Wishes for Kids, The Laura Centre, Hanna Edwards Cancer Appeal, Neuroblastoma Society, Friends of Sycamore Court, Aspire, Leicestershire Children’s Holiday Centre - Mablethorpe and Leicester Hospitals Charity - Breast Care.
Rudolph and Santa will be outside the church to welcome people into the Carol Service and to spread some Christmas cheer throughout the event. LFRS would also like to invite the general public to come and support their favourite reindeer on the route closest to them and we appreciate all support given to this worthy charity event.
Due to the current highways and insurance legislation, LFRS must confirm that they will be unable to proceed with the usual mobile routes usually associated with the Rudolph charity collections. Whilst we appreciate that this is disappointing, we do hope that people will be in a position to catch up with Santa and Rudolph at one of the static collection points across Leicester and Leicestershire.
