Western Fire and Rescue Station Open Day
Firefighters from Western Fire and Rescue Station invite all to its free open day
at Aikman Avenue, New Parks, LE3 9PW on Saturday 29 August 2009 from
10am – 4pm.
Anthony Wildgoose, Firefighter at Western Fire and Rescue Station said:
“We’re opening up the station for the day in order to welcome the
community so they can find out what goes on behind the scenes at a
fire and rescue station. It will be a great opportunity for the firefighters
and the public to interact and to pass on important safety messages
whilst having a fun time”
Throughout the day there will be plenty of activities for all the family to
take part in. As well as fire engines and a smokehouse, there will also
be fire safety demonstrations, games, fairground rides, stalls and a
BBQ”
I’m looking forward to the event as it promises to be a positive day and
we will be able to engage with the community, promote fire safety
and hopefully raise some money for the Fire Fighters Charity”
