Leicestershire Fire and Rescue Service Help Raise Money for Water Aid
Leicestershire Fire and Rescue Service firefighters are doing their bit to help out the charity Water Aid by driving a fire engine from the Premier Inn, Leicester, to Kettering. The fire engine is taking over the journey from a team arriving from Coventry in an ice cream van!
Wayne Gale, Watch Manager for White Watch, Wigston Fire and Rescue Station, said:
‘This is a fun event to get involved in, kind of like a ‘jailbreak’, and the fund raising from Whitbread for Water Aid is getting more and more elaborate. We are honoured and excited to be involved in this.’
The event, taking place on Friday 16 April, aims to add to a charity fund that has raised over £250,000 since Whitbread took Water Aid on as their chosen charity in 2009.
