Invitation to Attend Media Opportunity

Leicestershire Fire and Rescue Service invite you to attend a media opportunity on: -

When: Friday 28 May

Time: 7.00 – 7.30am

Place: Southern Fire and Rescue Station, Meridian East, Leicester LE19 1WZ

A team of four firefighters will be leaving to deliver a redundant Rope Rescue Unit to our firefighter friends in Haskovo, Bulgaria.

Leicestershire Fire and Rescue Service have been donating vehicles to Haskovo, Leicester’s twin town, since 2002. There is still a need for vehicles as Haskovo firefighters are regularly replacing the 35year old Russian vehicles.

These engines are being retired as part of our vehicle replacement programme which provides the people of Leicester, Leicestershire and Rutland with the latest equipment and technology.

Leaving from Dover, the firefighters will be driving through France, Belgium, Germany, Austria, Hungary, Romania and finally into Bulgaria. The trip will be funded by remaining sponsorship raised last year as well as personally by the firefighters.
