Auction Prize Winner ‘Fires’ Up the Audi R8 V10 Supercar for The Fire Fighters Charity
Leicestershire Fire and Rescue Service firefighters recently enlisted the help of Jardine Audi to boost their fundraising efforts for The Fire Fighters Charity. The team at Halesowen Audi in the West Midlands came up trumps, and offered an Audi R8 V10 supercar for use over the weekend as an auction prize at Leicestershire Fire and Rescue Service’s recent Grand Charity Ball. The event raised £3,000 in total and the lucky prize winner, Mina Patel from Leicester, happily took charge of the Audi R8 V10 for the weekend and we are fortunate to have Mina available with the supercar for a photo opportunity.

The Head of Business at Halesowen Audi, Mr. Tom Armstrong, said “The team here at Leicestershire Fire and Rescue Service work tirelessly for their local community, both to protect and to improve it, so we were honoured to have been able to help such a commendable group of individuals.”
Howard Robinson, Chairman for The Fire Fighters Charity, said “The annual Grand Charity Ball, organised by Leicestershire Fire and Rescue Service earlier this year, raised funds that will enable The Fire Fighters Charity to continue their invaluable work for all fire service personnel during their times of need. The Charity assists thousands of individuals, by providing pioneering treatment and support services at a cost of over £9 million every year. With no government funding, we are completely reliant upon donations from the general public and fire community. We are therefore extremely grateful to Jardine Audi for supporting the Charity with their generous donation of the Audi R8 V10 supercar and also to Mina Patel whose bidding created much excitement during the auction and ensured funds raised were even better than last year!”
Lucky winner, Mina Patel, said “Having worked for LFRS for twenty years I realise it takes a unique person to do the job of a firefighter. By donating to The Fire Fighters Charity I know I am helping my friends and colleagues, who I am extremely proud of.”
