Fireskills Presentation
2.15pm, Thursday 1 December 2011 Market Harborough Fire and Rescue Station
For four days in November, thirteen young people from Robert Smyth Academy have taken part in a FireSkills course run by LFRS, funded by the Community Safety Partnership.
The course consists primarily of basic firefighting drills, such as hose running, which aim to help young people work co-operatively and understand how their actions affect other people. The course is designed to enhance their self esteem and confidence through enhancing their communication and performance skills in a team focused environment.
The presentation will be the culmination of the group’s work and will be their chance to demonstrate the skills that they have learnt over the last few weeks as a group.
Those invited to the presentation include the parents and families of the young people involved and representatives from LFRS, the school, and the funding body.
