Hav A GoHave you thought about becoming a firefighter, but not taken the next step?

Being a firefighter at Leicestershire Fire and Rescue Service offers you an exciting and rewarding career with a real opportunity for progression. In order to give you some practical hands on experience on what being a firefighter entails, we are putting on a number of  ‘Have A Go’ days.

These days will be taking place over the course of the next few months and, on these days you will be able to:

  • Find out more about the fitness level requirements
  • Find out more about what the job entails
  • Speak to current firefighters about how they find the job
  • Speak to one of our Recruitment Champions

By putting on these days, the Service hopes to encourage more women and people from a BME background to attend and consider becoming a firefighter. This will hopefully enable us to get a diverse workforce that better represents the local communities within Leicester, Leicestershire and Rutland that we served. We have a number of confirmed dates which can be seen below. Please note that no appointment is necessary, just drop in at a time that is convenient for you.

Please note: due to the number of attendees at the Have A Go taster days below, there will be no parking on station sites.
