Your Safety

General Safety Information

In addition to providing an excellent response to emergency incidents, Leicestershire Fire and Rescue Service also seeks to improve community safety by working pro-actively, to prevent fires and other emergencies from happening.

The most effective way to save lives and reduce injuries is to reduce the number of incidents that happen in the first place.

The Community Safety Support Team sets out to achieve these goals through a system of preventative education involving a wide range of initiatives aimed at promoting a safe environment from fires, road traffic collisions and other emergencies. For further information, click here

These education initiatives are delivered by dedicated team which consists of Community Safety Advisors, the School Education Team, and Firecare.

Community Safety Advisors (CSAs)

The role of the team of advisors is to engage with the community, delivering fire safety talks and presentations to all sections of the community of all ages and ethnic backgrounds, disabled people, youth and community groups. CSAs also support Firefighters to attend public events in case they receive an emergency call out. To book an event, please see the event registration form below:

In order to improve our service and communicate more efficiently with ethnic minority groups, we have Community Safety Advisors who speak several different languages, including Gujarati, Urdu, Polish, Hindi, Punjabi, Cantonese and British Sign Language.

One team of advisors support staff in retained fire stations to deliver fire safety and arson advice within rural communities. For more information of Community Safety Advisors, click here
