Braunstone Blues Privacy Notice

Braunstone Blues tries to meet the highest standards when collecting and using personal information. For this reason, we take any complaints we receive about this very seriously. We encourage people to bring it to our attention if they think that our collection or use of information is unfair, misleading or inappropriate. We would also welcome any suggestions for improving our procedures. This privacy notice was drafted with brevity and clarity in mind. It does not provide exhaustive detail of all aspects of Braunstone Blues’ collection and use of personal information. However, we are happy to provide any additional information or explanation needed. Any requests for this should be sent to the address below.

We will process your data for the following reasons

We have to hold the details of the people who have requested the service in order to provide it. However, we only use these details to provide the service the person has requested and for other closely related purposes e.g.

  • to reduce the number of unnecessary emergency calls to blue light services such as the ambulance, fire and police services
  • to provide advice tailored to the individual’s needs as well as provide information about other organisations that may be able to help them
  • offer home visits to understand and identify any problems or risks residents may have
  • to provide advice and support on child safety, fire safety, home safety, vehicle security or home security
  • to offer support on diet, exercise, loneliness, anxiety, depression and dealing with antisocial behaviour

How we look after your information

When we ask for personal information we endeavour:

  • to make sure you know why we need it
  • to ask only for what we need, and not to collect too much or irrelevant information
  • to protect it and make sure nobody has access to it who shouldn’t
  • to let you know if we share it with other organisations to give you better public services – and if you can say no
  • to make sure we don’t keep it longer than necessary; and
  • not to make your personal information available for commercial use without your permission.

In return we ask you to:

  • give us accurate information
  • tell us as soon as possible if there are any changes, such as a new address.

This helps us keep your information reliable and up to date.

Access to personal information

Braunstone Blues tries to be as open as it can be in terms of giving people access to their personal information. Individuals can find out if we hold any personal information by making a ‘subject access request’ under the Data Protection Act 1998. If we do hold information about you we will:

  • give you a description of it
